Benefits of Yoga

I started practicing yoga a year ago at the Ocean County YMCA.  I’ve noticed that my flexibility has improved, and my tolerance of pain also has improved.  The pain from sciatica has reduced, my joint range of motion has definitely improved.  I have better muscle tone; I’ve also noticed my balance has improved.  Don’t let the pictures in magazines scare you away from trying yoga, if you have a good instructor they will suggest many alternative positions that you can try.  For those of you who cannot get down on a mat, they have chair yoga, so give it a try.
